Off-Campus Physical Education (OCPE)

Paradise ISD offers eligible students in grades 6–12 the opportunity to earn physical education credit through participation in an approved Off-Campus Physical Education (OCPE) program. Off-Campus PE is intended for students who participate in qualifying physical activity programs that meet the requirements established by the Texas Education Agency (TEA) and Paradise ISD.

Students must receive district approval prior to participation in an Off-Campus PE program for physical education credit to be considered.

Two categories of participation are available:

  • Category I – Olympic-Level Participation/Competition: Students participate in a minimum of 15 hours of highly intensive, professionally supervised training each week and may be eligible for release from one class period during the regular school day.
  • Category II – Private or Commercially Sponsored Physical Activity: Students participate in a minimum of 5 hours of supervised physical activity each week through an approved program. Category II participation does not provide release from the regular school day, and students must remain enrolled in a full academic schedule.

Parents/guardians who are interested in Off-Campus Physical Education for their student should contact their campus counselor to discuss eligibility requirements, the application process, required documentation, and program approval procedures.
